HCS Group, PC is an engineering consulting and technical solutions firm located in Montgomery, Alabama. Using the firm’s founding core principles of leadership, integrity, service, and teamwork, HCS Group delivers outstanding engineering services to commercial, government, and military clients throughout the world. HCS Group History

In 2009, Kent Hornsby, PE, LEED AP (BD+C), founded HCS Group, PC a small business with a well-planned business model and a worldwide platform to work from to serve commercial, government, and military clients throughout the world.

A veteran electrical engineer with experience on projects throughout the United States, as well as Africa, Asia, the Middle East, the Caribbean, Europe, and Central and South America, Hornsby’s career path began in 1983 with a two-man shop that he helped start and operate out of the attic of his home. As the business grew too large for a two-man operation, others were added and office space obtained. Hornsby always dreamed of expanding his operation worldwide.

Armed with a carefully designed business plan that defined exactly how he wanted his business to grow and the market he wanted to target, the United States Military (his central core experience) with a concentration on State Department and Department of Defense work, Hornsby founded HCS Group. So successful in overcoming clients’ challenges, HCS Group was awarded three times the number of contracts that Hornsby projected during the first year of business. To date, the firm executes over 100 projects per year.

HCS Group continues to grow both nationally and internationally through repeat business from existing clients and new business developments. HCS Group provides engineering services with a hands-on approach, performing technical field analyses on all projects. The engineering firm’s Technical Service Division performs various types of systems evaluations using state-of-the-art computer simulation. The software models energy, lighting, and infrastructure dynamic behavior. To maximize infrastructure investment and energy performance for facility operations, HCS Group’s computer software also provides reporting, recording, and any necessary adjustments required.
